Voluntary Termination

Voluntary termination refers to the situation where an employee chooses to leave their job on their own accord, rather than being fired or laid off. This could be for a variety of reasons, such as seeking new job opportunities, pursuing further education, relocating, or personal reasons.

Voluntary termination is typically initiated by the employee, who may be required to provide notice of resignation, often two weeks, depending on company policy.

Unlike involuntary termination, where an employer initiates the departure, voluntary termination may involve the employee deciding the timing and terms of their departure.
