Vacation Accrual
Vacation accrual refers to the process by which employees accumulate paid time off (PTO) for vacation, based on the number of hours worked or a set period of employment.
Typically, employees earn a certain amount of vacation days or hours for each pay period worked, such as one day per month or a certain number of hours per week. The amount of vacation time an employee can accrue depends on the company’s policies and may increase with years of service.
Employees can use their accrued vacation time when they need time off, and any unused vacation time may carry over or be forfeited, depending on the employer’s policy.
