Time Clock
A time clock is a mechanical or electronic device used by businesses to record the time employees begin and end their shifts, as well as the total number of hours worked.
Time clocks can be physical (e.g., punch clocks or biometric scanners) or digital (e.g., online systems or apps). Employees typically “punch in” when they start work and “punch out” when they finish, and the time clock logs these entries. Time clocks help employers track work hours, ensure accurate payroll processing, and comply with labor laws regarding wages and overtime.
Many modern time clock systems integrate with time and attendance software, allowing for more efficient tracking and reporting.
