The General Requests feature located in FingerCheck’s online dashboard is now accessible on the FingerCheck mobile app.
Now, employees can log in and go to Requests to make and send requests directly to their supervisors, as well as check the status of existing requests. They can make requests for schedule changes and punches, such as notifying a supervisor about a missed punch or asking to come in early. They can also make general requests regarding other work matters.

For more information, see our help desk article on making general requests on the mobile app. Supervisors, on the other hand, can manage requests from the mobile app by opening the side menu and tapping on Approve Requests. This now displays both Absence Requests and General Requests. There should be three action buttons to choose from – Approve, Decline, and New.
For Android phones, this feature is built into the screen, and supervisors simply tap the request checkbox and the button to resolve the request. For iPhone, swipe across the screen or tap the pencil icon on the top right of the screen to reveal the three buttons. Pending requests will materialize with a circle you can tap to select the request, then tap one of the Action buttons. Then Supervisors can view the request in greater detail by tapping on the request.

Note that these requests do not replace the Absence Requests feature on the mobile app, which employees should still use for requesting time off. When submitting general requests, employees must select what type of request they are making.
Employers can customize the types of requests by going to the System Menu. When adding the request type, supervisors/admins have the option of tying the type to an exception policy to eliminate flagged exceptions for approved changes.
Most request types (like In Early, Long Break, Missing Out Punch for example) are related to breaks, punches, and schedule changes. However, a new type, General, has been created for any requests that don’t fit within the traditional types.
Our mobile app is constantly being redesigned with new features for your benefit. It’s our goal to provide the most powerful time tracking and workforce app available on the market.
Adding General Requests to the app is another way in which FingerCheck connects employees to employers, making for easy communication and convenience all around.
