New Feature: GEO Live Map

At FingerCheck we frequently rework and upgrade our software with high-tech features that offer administrators, even more, workforce management tools. One of the most exciting features released this week is our enhanced GEO Live Map feature.

For those of you who have employees clocking in with the mobile app or web browser, we have now implemented a new geographical feature that allows you to view the locations and punch status of all your employees on a digital map by integrating with technology powered by Google Maps. From one simple map screen, you can easily track employees’ whereabouts, and see whether they are clocked in or out.

The pins on the map are placed according to the GPS coordinates that were captured when they punched from the mobile app or from the IP address they used to punch from a web browser. Note: Some punches from the mobile might not show up on the map unless you have the latest version of our mobile app, Version 2.0.1 or higher.

If you go to the Time Card tab within your FingerCheck account and click on Live Status, you’ll see GEO Live Map on the top (you can also click More under Today’s Live Status on your dashboard to get to the GEO Live Map). If you click on GEO Live Map, a pop-up will be triggered that displays your workers on a map like this:

The green pins represent employees punched in and the blue pins represent employees punched out. You can zoom in or out to get a better view of where your employees are. If you hover over a specific pin you can get detailed information, including their name, punch time, date, and the exact address they’re currently working from. For privacy purposes, we have removed the name and address of the sample employee, but have indicated where that information would go:

Our new GEO Live Map feature is just one more tool FingerCheck gives you to manage your workforce, and we hope it will be helpful in overseeing your employees’ punches. Once you arrange for your employees to access the mobile app, they can punch in and out on the go and you can check their status and location at the time of punch throughout the day using this feature whenever you’d like.
